Greetings fellow anglers,In these gloomy economic times, we wanted to send you a bit of good news. WE STILL HAVE WATER IN THE RIVERS!
Fishing has already started and some of the guides have been fun-fishing on the Bitterroot with dries. People have been nymphing on Rock Creek for about a month now - stories vary as they always do!
Year after year, the most asked question is “how’s the fishing and when should we come”?Our answer? Well, that depends. Different fisherman have varying expectations and obviously different results and stories. We generally tell them our most predicable time periods for the freestones of western Montana are:
•End of March thru mid-May
•Mid-June thru about July 20
•and somewhere around mid-August thru the end of October.
As some of you know, we can have great fishing on the Missouri River (tailwater) in May and periodically throughout the summer into early November. So, don't wait, the weather's getting warm, the rivers are running and the fish are bitting.
