Thaba Mmoyo Safaris is a family owned & operated safari business situated in the Limpopo Province of South Africa.  Among the vast number of family owned ranches we also hunt on a number of quality plains game and dangerous game concessions in South Africa and Zimbabwe.  

It all started in 1911 when my grandfather, Hannes Steyn first arrived behind the Soutpansberg Mountains equipped only with his wagon, oxen, pocket knife & P14 action 303.  His knowledge of the bush, love of hunting and the outdoors was passed down to my father Piet Steyn.  Who continued with the well-established local hunting market.  My wildest dreams became a reality when I founded Thaba Mmoyo Safaris in 1997.

Thaba Mmoyo Safaris has been firmly established in the hunting community as a reputable safari operator.  We offer hunts that are tailor made for each client, from “1st time Africa” hunters to the most experienced huntsman.  
We pride ourselves in conducting ethical fair-chaise hunting by walking & stalking, where it is about the experience of the hunt, the thrill of the stalk and finally the reward of a well deserved trophy.

A hunter can expect to shoot 1 trophy a day.  After a long day’s hunting he can enjoy the breathtaking sunsets from Pride Rock overlooking the Sand River or relax at the bushveld campfire reminiscing about the record book trophies that got away….

We also cater for the non-hunting wives with our private luxury air conditioned en-suite chalets.  They can enjoy the African tranquillity in our bird filled garden or next to the alluring swimming pool.  A number of day trips that can be arranged.  For the ladies who prefer the indoors, we have Wi-Fi, a small library and satellite television in the main lodge.
